HSNEGA’s new Executive Director

The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) has a new Executive Director – Sandy Holiday – who comes to the Gainesville-based organization with 18 years of experience in managing nonprofits.

Holiday replaces Juan Cueto who resigned last April. Cindy Askounis had been serving in the post on an interim basis.

“I am proud to share that I have joined the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia as its new Executive Director,” Holiday wrote on her linkedin.com page. “The HSNEGA has served our community with compassion for more than 100 years, advancing its mission to promote responsible pet ownership, provide shelter and lifesaving services to animals in need.

“HSNEGA has positively impacted families and countless animals across our region. I am deeply honored to step into this role and build upon a century-long legacy of service alongside a passionate staff, committed volunteers, generous supporters and dedicated community partners.”

Holiday has been on the job since the end of December.
