The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) says it recently donated more than 460 pounds of cat food to the local Meals on Wheels program.
“The bond between a senior and their pet is a special one, and it’s a bond we are dedicated to protecting,” reads a HSNEGA Facebook posting. “Over the past two weeks, we’ve provided 465.8 pounds of cat food to the Gainesville-Hall County Meals on Wheels.”
But providing pet food to senior citizens is nothing new to the HSNEGA.
“For more than 15 years, we have been working together to deliver food to pets alongside meals for their owners.,” the post continues. But the agency says it alone couldn’t do it.
“Your donations make this possible, helping to ensure that no one has to choose between feeding themselves or their best friend.”
