A 59-year-old man remained in the Hall County Jail Wednesday night following his arrest Tuesday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville on several charges including Public Indecency/Indecent Exposure.
Fred McGregor Mathis is also charged with Possession of Meth, Possession and Use of Drug-Related Objects, and Possession of a Weapon in the Commission of a Crime.
Gainesville Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook was asked for details on each of the charges. “Called to NGMC for a subject acting indecent,” he wrote in an email. “Alleged he was rubbing his genitalia in public view. He was arrested and found to be in possession of 3.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine. He had a pistol in a backpack.”
Mathis was being held on bonds totaling $8,430.
Police are also investigating a fraud case in which a 45-year-old man reports losing $13,000 to swindlers between January 16 and Tuesday. Other information was not provided Wednesday.
