‘High Noon’ in Savannah; Parking lot snake bite

*There has been pushback from Oglethorpe Mall management about the Sheriff of Chatham County to send deputies to the property. Sheriff Richard Coleman tells WSAV he has been attempting to send more deputies into the mall where several people were shot last week, but up till now has been told no by mall management.  The sheriff says peace officers needs to access common areas at will. Also the DA’s office has contacted business in the mall asking them to preserve evidence such as video footage as that also has been a bone of contention with the mall and investigative bodies.  

*A woman in Villa Rica is recovering in the hospital after being bitten by a venomous snake in the parking lot of a Walmart. Christina Prince of Villa Rica was bitten by a snake, believed to be a copperhead, while stepping out of her car near the Walmart garden center. Fox 5 Atlanta reports that she experienced swelling in her foot and calf, along with kidney complications, and has been hospitalized since the incident. With snake activity increasing in the summer, public health officials are reminding residents to be cautious and seek immediate medical attention if bitten.
