Helene: NGHS plans

As the Gainesville area prepares for the effects of Hurricane Helene, officials with Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) are making some adjustments to the hours of operation for their facilities.

NGHS ADVISORY:

“All Northeast Georgia Medical Center hospitals, including our emergency departments, remain open and operational. We are temporarily adjusting normal hours of operation for our non-hospital locations in advance of expected inclement weather:

Thursday, September 26

  • All non-hospital locations listed below closed at 5 p.m.
    • Northeast Georgia Physicians Group locations
    • Georgia Heart Institute locations
    • Urgent Care locations
    • Imaging Centers
    • NGMC Pharmacy
    • Rehabilitation Institute locations

Friday, September 27

  • Radiation Therapy locations will open at 9 a.m.
  • All non-hospital locations listed below will open at 10 a.m.
    • Northeast Georgia Physicians Group locations
    • Georgia Heart Institute locations
    • Urgent Care locations*
    • Imaging Centers
    • NGMC and New Horizons Pharmacy
    • Rehabilitation Institute locations

Staff will call patients impacted by the delayed start to reschedule appointments.

  • Elective and non-urgent surgeries/procedures will be delayed.
    • Physician offices will call patients with more information.
    • Emergent and urgent surgeries/procedures will continue as usual.

*Urgent Care virtual visits (ngpg.org/on-demand-visit) will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 27.
