A South Hall man remained in jail Monday afternoon following his weekend arrest on domestic violence charges including threatening to kill a juvenile who called 911 seeking help.
HALL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:
“Deputies responded to a dispute in progress at the home in the 4700 block of Shady Lake Circle at approximately 12:10 p.m. (Saturday). Deputies spoke with all parties at the residence, including the suspect, Zain A. Behbahani, 39.
According to the initial investigation, Behbahani and the female victim, 39, were in an argument just before deputies’ arrival. During the dispute, he wrapped his hands around the victim’s neck, squeezed and lifted her. Behbahani committed the assault in the presence of three children. He released the adult victim and then punched an interior door, causing a crack in it. After becoming aware one of the juveniles had called 911, Behbahani threatened to kill the juvenile.
Deputies arrested Behbahani at the scene and charged him with the following crimes.
- Aggravated assault – FVA (felony)
- Terroristic threats and acts – FVA (felony)
- Third-degree cruelty to children – three counts (misdemeanor)
- Criminal trespass – FVA (misdemeanor)
Deputies transported Behbahani to the Hall County Jail.”
Bond has been set at $12,200.
