A Flowery Branch woman remained in the Hall County Jail late Fridy morning in lieu of bonds totaling $11,820 after she assaulted a woman inside a moving vehicle early Tuesday, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Just before 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call on the side of Lanier Parkway (I-985) southbound in the area of Plainview Road. They found the female driver of a pickup truck suffering from a large bump on her forehead head as well as a laceration to her left hand. The passenger, identified as 34-year-old Victoria Lynn Sutherland, was sitting in the front passenger seat of the pickup.
According to the investigation at the scene, both the victim and Ms. Sutherland had been at the home of mutual friends earlier in the evening. The victim offered to give Ms. Sutherland a ride home, which she accepted. During the ride, Ms. Sutherland opened a bottle of beer she had brought with her into the vehicle. When the victim objected, Ms. Sutherland struck the victim in the head with the beer bottle, breaking the bottle in the process. The investigation determined the victim was struck multiple times before she could stop the vehicle. Ms. Sutherland also sustained a cut to her leg during the course of the altercation.
Deputies located a broken glass beer bottle in the pickup truck as well as additional unopened bottles of beer inside Ms. Sutherland’s book bag.
Ms. Sutherland first was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment of the cut to her leg. She was then taken to the Hall County Jail on charges of felony aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, reckless conduct, public drunkenness and battery.”
