HCSO: Kilo of meth seized, S. Hall man arrested

HCSO NEWS RELEASE:

“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators seized just over one kilogram of methamphetamine and
arrested a Flowery Branch man during a drug investigation this week.

On Monday afternoon…a Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck
for failing to maintain its lane at the intersection of Hog Mountain and Capitola Farms Road. During the stop, the deputy’s K9 alerted to the presence of drugs in the truck. The deputy searched the vehicle and found approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine inside.

HCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigators responded and spoke with the driver, identified as James Rondy Andrews, 50, of Flowery Branch. During the interview, investigators learned that additional
methamphetamine was at Andrews’ residence in the 7000 block of Sleepy Lagoon Way.

Investigators detained Andrews, and the team moved to his residence, where they located approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine, three handguns and 105 grams of marijuana. The combined street value of the drugs is estimated at $3,200.

Investigators then arrested Andrews on the following felony charges.

  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (3 counts)
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of marijuana
    Deputies transported Andrews to the Hall County Jail, where he remains held without bond.
    The case remains under investigation by SIU.”
