HCSO: Kidnapping, aggravated assault charges follow violent incident

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Warrant Service Unit deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) arrested a suspect over the weekend who physically assaulted a female victim at a residence in the New Holland…

Jose Alfredo Silva Osegueda, 29, remains in the Hall County Jail on the following charges related to the Friday…incident:

·         Kidnapping

·         Aggravated assault (two counts)

·         911 obstruction

HCSO patrol deputies responded to a 911 call from the residence on East Main Street just before 10:15 p.m. They met with the victim, a 32-year-old woman, who had visible injuries to her body, including multiple bruises and red marks as well as a cut behind her left ear.

The preliminary investigation indicated the victim and Silva Osegueda had had a verbal argument earlier in the day. At that time, the victim locked the door of a bedroom and Silva Osegueda left the residence. He later returned, forcing his way into the bedroom. At that point, the argument escalated into a physical assault.

The investigation determined Silva Osegueda dragged the victim by her hair and pushed her down several stairs. He also struck her on the side of the face with a closed fist, and he placed one hand around her neck in an attempt to strangle her. Prior to leaving the residence that night, Silva Osegueda grabbed the victim’s phone and kept it away from her. She was able to make the emergency call once he exited the house. The victim refused transport to the hospital.

Silva Osegueda was arrested on warrants the morning of Aug. 30, at a residence on Columns Drive in Gainesville.

Silva Osegueda is also under an immigration hold. He has a Gainesville address, but his country of birth is listed as Nicaragua.”
