HCSO: Fulton Co. man traveled to Gville for sexual encounters with minor 97.5 Glory FM

An Alpharetta man has been arrested by Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators for the sexual molestation of a teen girl from Gainesville.

Jackson Dean Olson, 21, was taken into custody Thursday on Northridge Road in Fulton County on warrants for two felony counts of aggravated child molestation. He remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond.

The preliminary investigation indicates Olson and the victim, a girl under the age of 16, met one another via social media. Olson traveled to the victim’s residence in Gainesville for two sexual encounters between November 21, 2023, and December 31, 2023, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams.

He is the recipient of many Associated Press awards and is a former judge of state and national Associated Press broadcast news contests. In 2005, he was presented with the Georgia Associated Press Broadcasters Association’s President’s Award for Excellence in Journalism and in 2019 was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame.

He lives in Gainesville with his wife of 52 years, the former Sandra McKnight of Clio, Alabama, and they have one child, a daughter, Lisa, who lives in Cumming with her family.
