HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) FACEBOOK POST:
“If you ever wonder why ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฎโ๐ ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐ข๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฎ๐ was written, Hall County Sheriffโs Office deputies recently experienced the fallout of a driver who didnโt follow it.
Early Sunday morning, July 13, two deputies in a marked patrol vehicle were at the scene of a vehicle breakdown on the southbound side of Interstate 985 near Exit 24. Deputies had the patrol vehicleโs emergency lights and directional arrows activated, directing drivers approaching from the rear to move left.
Despite minimal traffic (approximately 12:10 a.m.) and the active emergency equipment on the patrol car, the driver of a southbound pickup truck failed to move over and side-swiped the deputiesโ vehicle. Fortunately, the deputy in the driverโs seat was wearing his seatbelt and suffered only a minor injury. He returned to full duty after being checked out at the hospital. The occupants of the truck and the second deputy were not injured.
