Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators charged a Buford man with drug offenses, including intent to distribute, following a traffic stop in South Hall Monday evening.
“At roughly 7 p.m., patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop for failure to maintain lane in the 4100 block of Ga. 347/Friendship Road,” HCSO spokesman Derreck Booth wrote in an email. “A patrol K-9 unit alerted to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle. Deputies located approximately 8 ounces of THC wax, packaged separately for distribution, and roughly a half-pound of psilocybin mushrooms in the vehicle. The street value of the drugs is approximately $3,000.”
Investigators responded to the scene and arrested the driver, Matthew Alan Bialk, 40, of Buford, on charges of possession of a schedule I drug with intent to distribute and possession of psilocybin. Patrol deputies issued warning citations to Bialk, the lone occupant of the vehicle, for failure to maintain lane and failure to carry and exhibit a driver’s license.
Deputies transported Bialk to the Hall County Jail following his arrest. He remained held without bond at last check.
