HCSO: 2-month-old burglary solved

A Banks County man has been arrested and charged with burglarizing three storage units in Lula earlier this year.

Dustin Ray Hightower, 32, of Maysville, was arrested Thursday and is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says the burglaries occurred at Lula Mini Storage.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Three…units at the business, which is located on Main Street in Lula, were burglarized in the pre-dawn hours of April 9…. Assorted items were stolen from two of the units; the lock on the other unit was damaged, but nothing was taken, according to the preliminary investigation. Total value of the damage to the units and the stolen items was less than $1,500.

Property crimes investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office were able to tie Mr. Hightower to the crimes and take arrest warrants for three counts of burglary in the second degree. HCSO Warrant Service deputies arrested Mr. Hightower at a location in Dawson County…”
