HCPC: Proposed data center is back; another group home planned

Once again, for the third time, plans for a data center in South Hall are set to go before the Hall County Planning (HCPC).

The matter was tabled Sept. 2 to the Sept. 15 meeting and then tabled until Monday’s meeting.

The proposed location is a 119-acre site on O’Kelly Road near its intersection with Candler Road.

Also on Monday’s agenda is a Special Use request for a group home at 5424 Mulberry Preserve Drive near the Elizabeth Lane intersection. The proposed location is zoned Residential-1, according to planning commission documents, and is in the Preserve at Mulberry Subdivision.

It is the second group home announced for Hall County in the past few weeks. The Gainesville Planning & Appeals Board (GPAB) is scheduled to consider plans for one for recovering drug addicts on the north side of town when it meets Oct. 14.
