HCC: Full plate for this week’s meetings

While the bulk of the attention surrounding this week’s Hall County Commission (HCC) work session and voting meet is centered around plans for that South Hall data center, commissioners are faced with a lot more – 26 items in all, in fact – on their agenda.

Those items include approval of a contracts for the remodeling of the third floor of the government center at a cost of one million dollars and $1.9 million for Athens Street pedestrian improvements and associated utility work.

The board is also being asked to ratify a $1.3 million grant application for the courts to address case backlogs. That money would come from the 2026 Judicial Council American Rescue Plan.

As you’ll recall, the commission has indefinitely suspended the planning commission and planning and zoning matters are now going straight to county commissioners until further notice – and there are several, in addition to the data center, on Monday’s agenda, which can be accessed here. These items and the others on Monday’s agenda are for discussion only. No votes can be taken until Thursday’s official meeting.
