HCC agenda: A residential moratorium, a 700-unit housing development, a new industrial park

The agenda for next week’s Hall County Commission (HCC) work session and voting meeting includes extension of a moratorium on certain housing developments and plans for a 700-unit subdivision and a new industrial park.

The moratorium question is whether to extend for 180 days the moratorium that was first approved last year.

The 700-unit residential development is planned for Old Winder Highway at Pleasant Hill Lane. K2P Land Partners, LLC, is seeking to amend conditions of the zoning for the 84 acres.

The industrial park would be located on 31 acres on Cagle Road near the Julian Baugh Road intersection. The developer, Cook Communities, wants it rezoned from Agricultural-Residential to Ligh Industrial.

The commission work session will be at 3:00 Monday afternoon. The voting meeting will be at 6:00 Thursday evening. Both will be streamed live on the 97.5 GLORY FM website and will be available on a tape-delayed basis starting Tuesday and Friday, respectively.
