*Gov. Brian Kemp Monday named his floor leaders for this year’s state legislative session, and they include four members of the Hall County delegation: Sen. Drew Echols (R-Alto); Sen Bo Hatchett (R-Clarkesville); Rep. Soo Hong (R-Lawrenceville); and Rep. Will Wade (R-Dawsonville). Webster’s Dictionary defines a floor leader as “a member of a legislative body chosen…to have charge of…organization and strategy on (a house or senate) floor.”
*Cumming city officials Monday reported a 4,500-gallon sewage spill into a tributary of Lake Lanier. They say it was the result of grease partially blocking a sewer line on Westshore Drive.
*A Flowery Branch man has been charged with a recent hit-and-run at a house in Sterling on the Lake. The 64-year-old allegedly struck the garage door of the house with his truck and left the scene, only to be arrested later at his home. Flowery Branch Police arrested him after witnesses gave them additional information about the vehicle involved, a police spokesman said.
