Hall school to participate in state pilot program

Lanier Elementary School is one of nine schools in Georgia chosen by the state Department of Education to participate in its Culinary Support School Pilot.

The object, according to the Hall County School District (HCSD), is to work with Georgia’s School Nutrition Programs to support their creation and advancement of culinary-focused school meals.

State Culinary Specialists will collaborate with school systems to provide culinary-driven school-level support, focusing on solutions and guidance emphasizing the importance of culinary skills, presentation, placement of items, flavor, use of local fruits and vegetables, and service flow.

This collaborative approach is intended to create long-term impacts, according to a HCSD Facebook posting.

Buford Senior Academy is also participating.
