Hall County recorded an unemployment rate of 2.6 percent in September, down five-tenths of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 2.2 percent.
The labor force in the county increased by 932 and ended the month at 110,355, an all-time high. That number went up by 2,771 when compared to September of 2022.
The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) also says the jobless rate in the 13-county Georgia Mountains area, which includes Hall and most other counties in northeast Georgia, was down five-tenths to 2.8 percent compared to August; the regional rate was 2.4 percent a year ago.
