Hall Co. Drug Court marks milestone

The Hall County Drug Court recently recognized its 1,000th graduate.

HALL CO. NEWS RELEASE:

“The program was founded in 2001 by Judge John Girardeau and has touched the lives of many individuals and families within the Hall County community since its inception. The program recently celebrated the achievements of 10 graduates in March and recognized 45 total Drug Court graduates last year alone.

(It) currently serves over 250 participants and is designed to be an alternative to incarceration for individuals in the criminal justice system who are struggling with substance use and mental health disorders.

In order to graduate from the Drug Court program, participants must complete at least 24 months of drug and alcohol treatment, random drug screens, individual counseling, and demonstrate productive use of time through consistent employment or public service activities…”
