Hall County Elections has released key dates, deadlines, and voting information for the 2026 election cycle, including the May General Primary/Nonpartisan/Special Election and the November General Election.
With multiple offices, including county commission, judicial, and Board of Education positions, on the ballot and early voting periods beginning as early as March, elections officials are encouraging residents to review deadlines now to avoid last-minute issues with registration or voting access.
Residents are encouraged to review key deadlines and voting options early to ensure they are prepared to participate.
2026 General Primary/Nonpartisan/Special Election
Election Day: May 19, 2026
• Voter registration deadline: April 2, 2026
• Absentee by Mail application window: March 2 – May 8, 2026
• Early Voting: April 27 – May 15, 2026
2026 General Election
Election Day: November 3, 2026
• Voter registration deadline: October 5, 2026
• Absentee by Mail application window: August 17 – October 23, 2026
• Early Voting: October 13 – October 30, 2026

Qualifying information
The qualifying period for all candidates for the 2026 General Election cycle is March 2 – March 6, 2026. For information on where to qualify, see the Hall County Public Notice for Candidate Qualifying. For information on qualifying fees, view the Hall County Resolution for 2026 Qualifying Fees.
Poll workers needed
Hall County Elections is also actively recruiting 100 new poll workers to support the upcoming election cycle.
Hall County Elections will host a Poll Worker Hiring Drive to fill these positions February 23 – 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the Hall County Government Center located at 2875 Browns Bridge Rd., Gainesville.
Poll workers must be at least 16 years old, and a resident of Hall County or a neighboring county, with a special emphasis on the need for Spanish-speaking poll workers. All poll workers receive paid training prior to the election season.
