Hall County Administrator Zack Propes resigned Tuesday, effective in 30 days. The Board of Commissioners has named Assistant County Administrator John Gentry to take the helm as interim County Administrator.
“I am thankful for my time on the Hall County team,” Propes said. “My time at the County has been a blessing in my life, and I am thankful to the Board of Commissioners and past Administrators who have allowed me to serve on the executive management team.”
He started his career with the county in 2015 as the Director of Financial Services. After being promoted to Assistant County Administrator in 2019, Zach took the helm as County Administrator in three years ago.
“Under Zach’s leadership, Hall County Government worked tirelessly to set the standard for excellent local government services in the state of Georgia,” Chairman David Gibbs said. “Hall County maintained its consistent record of excellence in budgeting and financial reporting, and earning new accolades, including an upgraded AAA bond rating from Fitch Ratings and the 2025 ACCG Georgia County Excellence Award. Zach’s contributions to Hall County Government have been significant over the past decade.”
Propes’ last day on the job will be May 8.
