Hall County’s contribution to the recorded-setting number of early votes cast Tuesday on the first day of advance voting in Georgia was more than 6,000.
The county elections office reported Wednesday afternoon that the number was 6,461. There are 139,716 registered voters in the county.
Statewide, at least 252,000 voters had cast ballots at early-voting sites as of 4:00 p.m. Tuesday nearly double the 136,000 who participated in the first day of early voting in the 2020 election, said Gabriel Sterling, Georgia’s No. 2 election official. “Spectacular turnout,” he wrote on social media.
Early voting will continue through Nov. 1.
