Habersham County District 1 Commissioner Bruce Palmer is requesting a recount of the votes cast for the office in the May 21 Republican Primary.
The county’s Board of Elections & Voter Registration has scheduled a recount Monday at 2:00 in the board’s offices in Cornelia.
Palmer came in third in the three-person race, getting 30.72% of the vote. Kelly Woodall tallied 38% and Eric Holbrooks, 31.08%.
Under Georgia law, recounts are allowed if a candidate requests one and he or she there is a margin of 0.5% or less.
