*Gainesville’s new 130-room Courtyard by Marriott officially opened Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony after four years of planning and construction. It’s beginning with 50 employees and several groups already booked for meetings over the next two months, officials say. Meanwhile, work continues on a companion apartment building with leasing already underway.
