A 52-year-old Gainesville woman was still in jail Tuesday morning after being charged over the weekend with animal cruelty after she left a dog in her car.
Nancy Wilson was arrested Sunday afternoon at Home Depot on Dawsonville Highway, according to Gainesville Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook. National Weather Service data collected at the Gainesville airport shows the temperature at the time of Wilson’s 4:30 p.m. Sunday arrest was 91.
Lt. Holbrook added that the dog survived.
Wilson is also wanted in Habersham County, but Lt. Holbrook did not know what she’s charged with there and neither did a spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
However, Habersham sheriff’s spokesman Rob Moore said she’s wanted on two counts of felony probation violation.
