Gville woman charged with threatening to kill her children

Yaneth Vasquez Lopez, 26, of Gainesville, remains in the Hall County Jail on a charge of terroristic threats and acts following a weekend incident involving her children.

“Deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) were flagged down in the area of Jesse Jewell Parkway and Queen City Parkway around 4 a.m. Sunday,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “The reporting party told deputies his wife, the suspect, had gone to a party the night before with their two children. He became worried when he received a text from his wife saying she was going to kill the children.”

Detectives responded to the scene to speak with the husband and deputies began searching for Vasquez Lopez and her vehicle.

“E911 dispatchers pinged the suspect’s cell phone and eventually located the vehicle on East Main Street,” Williams said. “The suspect and four juveniles, including the couple’s two children, were inside the vehicle. The other two children were relatives. There were no injuries to the children.”

After investigators interviewed Lopez, they arrested her for sending the threatening text. She is being held without bond.
