UPDATE: Gville woman charged with overdose death of son

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:

“Following a months-long investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, a Gainesville woman has been charged with second degree murder in the overdose death of her 13-year-old son.

Holly Deanna Sosebee, 30, was arrested Friday, March 29, 2024, and remains in the Hall
County Jail with no bond. Her son, Landon Nicholas Sosebee, was found dead in the family
home on Lee Street on June 8, 2023.

At the time, the death was labeled suspicious because of the victim’s age. His body was sent
to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab for autopsy. The autopsy listed
Landon’s official cause of death as “combined toxic effects of fentanyl and xylazine.” The
investigation determined the illegal narcotics belonged to his mother, and she had left them
in an unsecured area where they were easily accessible to the victim.

As a result, Holly Sosebee was charged with murder in the second degree and cruelty to
children in the second degree, both felony offenses.”
