The 38-year-old Gainesville truck driver who is charged is charged in connection with the accident on I-85 earlier this week that left eight members of one family dead has been freed on bond.
Kane Aaron Hammock’s bond had been set at $98,000. He was released Thursday night.
Hammock is charged with eight counts of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, one count of misdemeanor feticide and several traffic charges.
The state patrol says he was driving too closely to a van carrying the victims when his rig struck it in the rear, causing it to burst into flames.
