Gville tax bills expected to be mailed next month

The City of Gainesville continues to field inquiries from residents regarding the status of 2025 property tax bills. While they would have normally mailed out Oct. 1, bills for real estate and personal property are delayed due to recent statewide legislative changes. (Hall County is faced with the same dilemma.)

In years past, property tax bills have been mailed around Oct 1. with a Dec. 1 due date. As previously stated, this year’s billing schedule is delayed due to newly approved homestead exemptions, which have impacted counties across Georgia – not just Gainesville-Hall County. The billing cycle is expected to return to its regular October timeline for tax year 2026.

Hall County issued an alert several weeks ago. EARLIER STORY. POSTED SEPT. 18: Mailing of Hall Co. tax bills delayed, maybe until Nov.

A check of the tax commissioner’s website Friday afternoon revealed no new information regarding the delay.
