Gville poultryman dies

Tom Folger, Jr., a Gainesville man known for his involvement in the Georgia poultry industry, has died at the age of 90.

Folger was born on June 19, 1934, in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. He graduated from Lumpkin County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science from The Ohio State University.

He was a partner at Folger Poultry Farms, developed and owned Millie’s Mini Storage and served on the board of the Bank of Dahlonega/Century South Bank.
