As 2025 was drawing to a close, the City of Gainesville was busy approving nearly $50 million in building permits for commercial and residential projects in December.
Included were 62 permits for new single-family homes ($14.8 million) and $315,000 worth of permits for remodeling and additions.
In addition, there were 26 commercial/industrial permits okayed, including three for new commercial projects ($22.4 million) and one for a new industrial development ($7.8 million). Commercial/industrial remodeling/addition projects totaled $2.7 million).
Rounding out the permits in both categories was approval for permits for such things as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
