Gville man jailed for alleged attack on homeless woman

A Gainesville man remained in the Hall County Jail Friday morning following his arrest this week in an assault on a homeless woman.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

Around (1:00 Wednesday morning) Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputies responded to a location on Hall Street in Gainesville after a 911 caller reported hearing a disturbance outside of his business.

The deputies encountered the adult female victim who said the suspect, later identified as Samuel Esquivel Flores, 38, had approached her and offered her money for sexual favors. She refused, and a confrontation ensued. The investigation determined Mr. Flores grabbed the victim’s breasts. He also forced the victim to the ground, causing visible injuries to her body, including a busted lip, a lump on her forehead and a scrape on her shoulder.

Mr. Flores fled the scene when the 911 caller interrupted the incident. The caller was able to give the deputy a description of the suspect vehicle, including a tag number.

A short time later, just before 1:30 a.m., another HCSO deputy located Mr. Flores’s vehicle on Queen City Parkway near Industrial Boulevard. The deputy stopped the vehicle and arrested the suspect. Mr. Flores was charged with battery, sexual battery and false imprisonment as well as DUI-alcohol/less safe and making an improper turn.

Mr. Flores is being held on a bond of $13,450.”
