Gville man free on bond after being charged with operating a chop shop

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Wesley James Alldredge, 48, of Gainesville, was charged with a felony chop shop violation after two stolen vehicles were located on property in the 3200 block of Gaines Mill Road.

A Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy went to the property On Friday…to conduct a follow-up investigation based on a tip he received about a stolen ATV (Polaris RZR). The deputy spoke with Alldredge, who is the primary occupant and caretaker of the property. After a brief search of the property, Alldredge located a frame and an engine for an ATV. He led the deputy to the vehicle parts, and the deputy confirmed the VIN on the frame matched that of the stolen ATV.

HCSO property crimes investigators arrived at the scene with a search warrant for the rest of the property.  During the search, investigators found additional parts for the stolen ATV inside an outbuilding on the property. They also discovered a disassembled Suzuki motorcycle, which they determined had been stolen from Sandy Springs.

Alldredge was arrested at the scene and transported to the Hall County Jail. He posted a bond of $13,000 and was released from custody (Saturday).”
