It happened late Friday afternoon, according to a report released Monday morning.
GAINESVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT NARRATIVE:
“…Gainesville Fire Department received a dispatch for a fire at 414 Laura Drive.
Fire units responded and arrived to find the residence to be around 50% involved. Fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze and after about 30 minutes, crews were able to get a knockdown on the fire. The home received substantial damage, displacing the occupants.
After the investigation, the cause was due to a faulty drop cord. No injuries were reported for this incident.”
