Gville 19-yr-old charged with grooming, sexual exploitation of Texas girl

Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Internet Crimes Against Children
(ICAC) Unit have arrested a Gainesville man for multiple sex offenses involving a 14-year-old
Texas girl he met via social media.

HCSO NEWS RELEASE:

Alex Masato Bohac, 19, was taken into custody Thursday…after investigators
executed a search warrant at his residence on Cove Overlook Road in northeastern Hall County. During the search, HCSO investigators, assisted by digital forensics investigators from the
Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), seized electronic devices belonging to Bohac.

The investigation determined the suspect and the victim began communicating online at the first
of February. At Bohac’s request, the girl sent nude photos of herself to the suspect’s Snap Chat
account. When Bohac demanded additional photos of the girl, the victim refused. Bohac
threatened to distribute the photos to the victim’s school if she did not comply. He followed
through on his threats, sending the photos to three students and a teacher.

At that point, the victim reported the crimes to her mother. The mother first contacted the sheriff’s office in Comal County, Texas, on Feb. 6, and then contacted HCSO on Feb. 9.

To date, Bohac has been charged with sixteen (16) counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Ten
(10) of the charges involve coercion of the victim to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the
purpose of producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), two (2) for possession of CSAM and
four (4) for distribution of CSAM. Bohac also was charged with grooming a child for indecent
purposes. Additional charges are expected.

Bohac remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond.”
