GSP: S. Hall man charged following chase

The state patrol says it took several attempts but that Alan Gale Nichols, 47, Flowery Branch, was finally taken into custody after a pursuing trooper was able to stop Nichols’ car using his own vehicle.

GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 1:01 pm, Troopers from Post 52 Hartwell responded to the area of Interstate 85 North near mile marker 176, in Franklin County, trying to locate a hit and run from a BOLO (be on the lookout).

Troopers located the vehicle, a black 2022 Chevrolet Spark, traveling north on Interstate 85.  The Trooper tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop initiating a pursuit.  A Trooper performed a successful PIT maneuver, which forced the vehicle into the grass median.  The driver tried to continue north in the median of Interstate 85 but struck the cable barrier.  The driver tried to enter the southbound lanes of Interstate 85, but a Trooper used his patrol car to stop the fleeing vehicle.  The driver was arrested without further incident.”

SECOND CHASE

There was also another recent chase involving GSP, this one in Hall County last week. It also resulted in an arrest, but a state patrol spokesman said Monday because it involved three troopers the report is not yet complete.

However, Hall County Jail records show that Joey Siberon, 35, was booked about midnight Thursday. He’s facing a total of 14 charges and as of Monday afternoon was still in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $22,690.
