A 60-year-old man who was stopped by Gainesville Police recently for riding his bicycle the wrong way on a city street and without lights ended up behind bars and facing nearly a dozen charges.
“Harold Williams was riding a bicycle on the wrong side of roadway into oncoming traffic,” police spokesman Kevin Holbrook said, “He ran on foot from officers, but was arrested without incident.”
Once he was caught, Capt. Holbrook said Williams was found in possession of 1.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Williams remined in the Hall County Jail without bond early Thursday, charged with:

*Possession of Drug-Related Objects
*Riding Bicycle Wrong Way on Roadway
*Bicycle Riding without Proper Lighting
*Resisting Arrest
*Pedestrian Darting in and out of Traffic
