GPD: Shotgun wielding, random shooting man arrested on southside

A 45-year-old man, Kendrick Rashaud Harris, remained in the Hall County Jail without bond Tuesday afternoon following his weekend arrest on the city’s southside for randomly firing a shotgun in the wee hours of the morning.

“Harris was arrested on 10/4/25 after an officer heard multiple gunshots in the High Street area,” Gainesville Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook wrote in an email Tuesday. “Officers encountered Harris walking down the road with a shotgun in his hand at 4:00AM. Harris had approximately 1 gram of cocaine on his person and is a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.”

Harris is charged with:

*POSSESSION OF A SAWED-OFF SHOTGUN/MACHINE GUN/SILENCER/DANGEROUS WEAPON

*RECKLESS CONDUCT

*FIREARMS DISCHARGE NEAR PUBLIC HIGHWAY

*POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON

*POSSESSION OF COCAINE – VGCSA

*POSS FIREARM/KNIFE THE COMMISSION OF CRIME

*PROBATION VIOLATION
