A 22-year-old man, already facing a long list of traffic charges, was also charged with trying to bribe the arresting officer, a Gainesville Police spokesman said Tuesday. And, Lt. Kevin Holbrook provided more details about a rape arrest we reported over the weekend.
The bribery charge facing Christopher Ayala was filed, Lt. Holbrook said, after Ayayla offered the officer money to drop the charges while he was being taken to jail.
Ayala is also charged with:
- POSSESSION AND USE OF DRUG RELATED OBJECTS PROHIBITED
- HEADLIGHTS AND OTHER LIGHTS REQUIRED
- POSSESSION MARIJUANA LESS THAN 1 OZ. – VGCSA
- DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED
- FAIL TO MAINTAIN LANE * TIRES – NO METAL TIRE CONTACT ON ANY ROADWAYS
- CHANGING LANES / SLOWING OR STOPPING / SIGNALS REQ / TURNING
- BASIC RULES – TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS
- DUI – ALCOHOL/LESS SAFE
UPDATE: 24-year-old Kevin Alexander Alquicira is the rape suspect. Holbrook says he’s charged in connection with an incident involving an intoxicated woman acquaintance.
He’s also charged with:
*AGGRAVATED SEXUAL BATTERY (2 COUNTS)
*SEXUAL BATTERY OVER 16 YEARS OLD
