GoFund account set up for injured GHS baseball player

Friends, family and others have launched a fundraising campaign for the family of Jeremy Medina, the Gainesville High School (GHS) baseball player injured in an accident on the ball field a couple of weeks ago.

Donations are being accepted through a GoFund account (pray4jeremy.com), the mail, or in person. Details on how to contribute through any of the three methods are on the pray4jeremy website.

Medina, a pitcher and catcher on the team, was injured in the batting cage when he was hit in the head by a bat. He was critically injured and has been in a coma at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville since the accident.

Gainesville Mayor Sam Couvillon, in a Facebook posting Wednesday urging community support and prayers for Meina and his family, noted that the young man’s mother and father have been staying at the hospital with him.
