A sophomore at a Gainesville High School is seeking volunteers to help him honor the first responders who died in the 9/11 attacks.
Andrew Collinson is a runner for Running 4 Heroes, a non-profit organization that honors fallen first responders.
“A non-profit organization called the Freedom Flag Foundation has reached out to me and asked if I could run their nationally-recognized mile in honor of all 343 firefighters who tragically gave their lives in the line of duty during the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks,” Collinson wrote in an email to 97.5 Glory FM. “The Freedom Flag Foundation was established in remembrance of those lost during the 9/11Terrorist Attacks and supports educational efforts to teach future generations about that tragic day in American history.”
He says he plans to run at 7:00 p.m. next Thursday, the 24th anniversary of the attacks, beginning at 4507 Havenwood Place in Gainesville.
Collinson can be contacted at [email protected] for more information.
