The Hall County School District (HCSD) graduated 86.9 percent of its eligible students for the 2023-2024 school year and the Gainesville City School System (GCSS), 89 percent. The county rate was down by six-tenths of a percent; Gainesville’s was up 2.4 percent. Statewide, Georgia’s high-school seniors recorded another all-time-high graduation rate.
According to the Georgia Department of Education (GDOE), the state’s four-year graduation rate rose to 85.4% — up from 84.4% in 2023, and an all-time high since the state began using the adjusted cohort calculation first required in 2011 by federal law.
A total of 115 Georgia school districts recorded graduation rates at or above 90%, and 44 districts recorded rates at or above 95%. Georgia’s statewide graduation rate has increased by 18 percentage points since 2011.
