Gasoline prices jump 9 cents since last Monday

Have you noticed the increase in the price of gas over the past week? AAA South says the biggest reason is an increase in the price of crude oil.

“Despite another week of lackluster demand for gasoline, Georgia pump prices continued to rise,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “The primary reason is higher crude oil prices, which have recently increased to the mid-$70s per barrel.”

Monday’s state average is nine cents more than a week ago, but it’s up 12 cents a gallon in Gainesville.
