That’s compared to a week ago. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded Monday morning was $3.65 statewide and $3.64 in Gainesville. Looking back to a month ago, those prices were $3.24 and $3.16, respectively.
Monday’s averages are in line with what they were a year ago. $3.63 in Georgia and $3.52 in Gainesville.
Nationwide Monday, the average price was $3.82.
AAA says pump prices have primarily risen due to the price of oil, which was near $80 per barrel last week, but has since softened recently, meaning some relief may be on the way.
