As drivers settle into their fall routines, gas demand is going down and pump prices are following suit, according to AAA.
In Gainesville, for instance, the average price for a gallon of regular is $2.83, compared to $2.86 a week ago. The state average is down two cents from last Monday and is at $2.89. Meanwhile, the national average for a gallon of regular is down about a penny to $3.19.
AAA also says there remains an abundance of crude oil supply which is outweighing demand. And the seasonal transition to winter-blend gasoline – which is cheaper to produce – is also beginning.
