Gas prices are down this week on two of the three platforms monitored by AAA.
The average price for a gallon in Gainesville is down two cents to $2.85. The Georgia average, however, is six cents more than that – $2.91 – and is up a penny compared to last Monday. The national average is $3.19, two cents cheaper than a week ago.
AAA says prices are down because of lower crude prices, a decrease in gasoline demand, and an increase in the supply of gasoline.
