Gallery of 1936 tornado to hit the road soon

It will be available for local schools as well as libraries around the state. It can now be seen at the downtown branch of the Hall County Library System (HCLS).

HALL COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM FACEBOOK POSTING:

“…It will be displayed here until the end of October and then will travel the county and state to other libraries that would like to show this gallery.

HCLS has digitized and cataloged photos, films, and information about the Gainesville 1936 Tornado and Recovery on the Digital Library of Georgia. You can see the video from 1936 playing on the table at the gallery.

This gallery has been made possible by grants from: Iconic America, WETA, PBS, and the Friends of the Hall Co Library System! We would also love to hear personal and family memories of the tornado.
