Gainesville native to be inducted into Nashville Songwriters H of F

The late John Jarrard will be inducted Oct. 11.

Jarrard was elected in the Legacy category, which is designed specifically to honor candidates who are deceased.

Jarrard moved to Nashville in 1977 to pursue a songwriting career but by 1979 because of diabetes he was totally blind. But that didn’t stop him from pursuing his dream and in 1983 his “Nobody But You” rose to the top of the country music chart. And more hits followed including four more that made it into the top five
