There were 160 building permits issued by Gainesville last month for construction valued at $8.4 million.
That includes 15 for new single-family homes expected to cost $4.6 million to build and 13 permits for additions, remodeling, and repairs totaling $948,000.
One commercial permit for new construction costing $400,000 was issued and nine for additions, repairs and remodeling totaling $1.1 million.
Add permits for such things as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC to get the final total.
